James Gonsoulin

Associate Pastor

At the age of 5 years old, I began a relationship with Jesus and have seen God faithfully work in my life throughout many seasons. I was born in New Orleans, LA and grew up there as well as in Tulsa, OK before moving to South Carolina in 2003 where I attended and played football at Wofford College. After graduating from Wofford, the Lord called me into full-time ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes along with serving as the college pastor at a local church in the Upstate.

Later, I served on a multi-site church staff as a youth pastor and then a campus pastor. I am married to my incredible wife Erica, who is my best friend, and we have two awesome children in Elias and Lillie. I love the Lord and genuinely seek to honor Him in all areas of my life. I love making memories with my family, working out, time with friends, sports, Jeeps, and the outdoors.

Alan Goldsmith

Worship Leader/Elder

God started using me in music at the age of 8 and I began my relationship with Jesus at the age of 12. I grew up in Anderson, SC playing music with family and friends. Music is deeply rooted in my family. After I graduated high school, God placed an amazing woman in my life, Sommer Goldsmith, who I ended up marrying. We have three wonderful boys: Leland, Gunnar, and Tillman.

God led my family and I to Gospel Light in 2016 where I was given the opportunity to lead worship. My heart is to set the example that worship is more than just music but rather a lifestyle that we choose to live every day. We serve God by serving others and putting their interests above our own. I’m thankful that I can serve others with the gift of music and I invite you to come experience what God is doing at The Light!

I started following Jesus in 2010 and He has just been so good to me ever since. I had grown up around church and had heard about Jesus from my parents but never realized there is a huge difference between knowing about Jesus and personally knowing Him. He opened my eyes to the reality of my sins and lost condition and miraculously saved me and radically changed my life. Since that time, He has grown me in so many ways and has done numerous incredible things in my life.

I attended Trinity Baptist College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Theology. During my time at Trinity, I had the privilege to be the Student Body Chaplain as well as serve in the youth group for all four years. Upon graduation, I returned home to Columbus, Ohio where I continued serving at my church, Fellowship Baptist Church. During this time, God brought the most incredible and beautiful woman into my life, Taylor. She is the girl of my dreams and I still can’t believe she is my wife. We absolutely love serving Jesus together and are so excited to be leading the Gospel Light students and young adults! I enjoy listening to music, working out, all things superhero related, sports, trading card games, and watching movies.

Next Gen Pastor

Joshua Chapmon

Creative Director

I studied video broadcasting at Liberty University where I met my wife, Jenilee. We were both born and raised as PK’s. I was blessed to also be a MK in Johannesburg, South Africa for 15 years. Jeni and I have both served in ministry in some capacity since we were children and both accepted Jesus early in life. I was called to ministry when I was 17. I worked in the corporate video world for four years until I was hired as a video producer for a megachurch where I worked for eight years. The Lord then called us to Gospel Light in 2021. Jeni and I have been married since 2011 and have two wonderful children: our son, Judah and our daughter, Juniper Lynn!

Our desire is to serve the local church in accordance with Scripture and help equip the saints for the work of ministry. My passion is to see Jesus glorified and reach others in the modern context through the use of the video medium, which can go further and faster in spreading the Gospel worldwide. I am also blessed to have my own video production business! Now while video communication is certainly a passion of mine and an impactful way to communicate, there is no substitute for sharing the Gospel through personal relationships and making disciples.

Sheila Moorhouse

Administration & Events

I was born and raised in West Chester, OH, which is a suburb of Cincinnati. I grew up in a Christian home where I was introduced to Jesus at an early age. On January 11th, 1974, I made the most important decision of my life: I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior! It was at this point I began my personal and still evolving relationship with Jesus Christ. I graduated from Lakota High School and continued my education at Milligan College in east Tennessee. After four years, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Business Administration and Mass Communications.

While at Milligan I also met my husband, Brad. In September of 1987 we were married and moved to South Carolina. I worked in the production department of WYFF-TV for three years. In 1990, I had my first child and began my career as a stay-at-home mom. We now have six wonderful children, two amazing sons-in-law and two very special grandchildren. God has truly blessed our family. We have been in Anderson for a long time now and even been members of Gospel Light since the day it began!

Greg Nichols

Financial Administrator/Elder

I am Greg Nichols. I was saved at the age of 18 on a teen outing, pursued not only by God but also my best friend, who ended up later becoming a pastor himself! I should have known then God was already working His plan for me. I have been teaching and preaching in children’s ministry since 2003. I have an amazing wife, Dodie, who supports and helps me in the ministry and our two amazing children, Savannah and Austin. I was self-employed for 17 years which allowed me the freedom to express my faith and spread the Gospel at any given time. I am now employed at Clemson University but still seek every opportunity to spread the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.

My passions and hobbies continue to be taking care of my family, gardening, watching basketball, and loving the people around me. I was there at the very first Gospel Light meeting, where just three of us met in a garage! The story of our church began there and the hand of God has been on every gathering since. We here at Gospel Light will continue to spread the Gospel and love you no matter what. See you there! #ForTheChildren

Lexie Hattaway

Missions Coordinator

The Lord saved me when I was young, but it wasn't until grad school when I truly realized what Jesus meant to me and what it meant to follow Him. During that time, I was also able to take my first mission’s trip, alongside my husband, to Costa Rica – and what a life changing experience it was for the both of us! We would encourage anyone and everyone to experience this blessing from God by serving on a mission’s trip, whether it be local or international. This experience jump-started my love for missions and I am honored to be in this role.

My husband and I are both graduates from Anderson University and we have a beautiful baby girl! My passions include my family, my dogs, being outdoors, and experiencing new places.

I am Roger Bolt and am married to my wonderful wife Tamie. We have two amazing children, Branigan and Maggee. We also have two granddaughters, Blakley and Lillian. Our family is involved with healthcare. Both my daughters and I are Registered Nurses (BSN) and Tamie is a CT Technologist. I manage four Medical Imaging Centers in the Anderson/Greenville area. My life in the ministry began when I was eight years old at Osborne Avenue Church of God. On a Wednesday night, I knelt at the red plush pew and asked Jesus to come into my heart. From that moment, I have felt God working and leading in my life in so many ways. I attended Charleston Southern University and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Religion. God then led me to San Francisco for Inner City Missions. It was there I truly formed God’s vision for me in a diverse world. The experiences I gained helped to progress God’s plan for me. I attended Clemson University and received my RN degree. I worked in the Emergency Room for the next 10 years.

As I look back at all that I have experienced and seen, God truly was always working on me behind the curtain of life. I look forward to God revealing His new plans and experiences every day. My hobbies include fishing, golf, and trips with the family. Gospel Light is a special place that I love to attend.
