“Forward Together” - Joshua 1:1-16 ESV
One of the most influential people in the Old Testament - let alone in the whole Bible - was a man named Joshua. He was directly mentored by Moses and witnessed unbelievable miracles. Unfortunately he had the difficult task of leading an entire nation of people who doubted the faithfulness of God and caused an 11 day journey to take 40 years. But even despite these circumstances, Joshua chose to rely on God's trustworthiness and believe His promise of guiding them to the Promised Land.
Reflection Questions:
Have you ever taken a long, difficult "road" in life instead of the one God wanted you to choose? What did you learn about yourself and God during that time?
The people of Israel were influenced by others who doubted God and it caused a ripple effect. What influences do you have in your life that are harming your views/beliefs about God?
How can you begin to find better influences?
