“Bury The Excuses” Matthew 19:16-22
Video Coming soon
We all have that friend or have met that person who always has an “excuse” for everything. We ask them to hang out or do us a favor and they never fail to have a reason as to why they can't do something. Typically our emotional response is one of annoyance, frustration, confusion, and distrust. The sad reality is that this is often the case when it comes to us and Jesus. He has clearly laid out His desires and commands for us in His Word and yet we will come up with all the excuses in the world to not do them - especially sharing the Gospel. We must decide this day if we are going to just "say" we are a disciple of Jesus or if we are going to bury our excuses and actually "live" like a disciple.
Reflection Questions:
Following Jesus can be very difficult at times. When have you found it the most challenging to obey Jesus? Why is it still worth it to follow and obey Him?
If you're being honest, what are the top 3 reasons why you find it hard to share the Gospel with someone? How can you begin to overcome those reasons/fears?
Is there anything in your life holding you back from being completely "sold out" for Jesus? Anything stopping you from obeying His commands? Talk to God about those things THIS week, ask Him to change your desires to seek Him above ALL else, and to give you a taste of the joy and satisfaction of a life fully surrendered to Him.
